Gift Horse

“Never look a gift horse in the mouth!” I’m convinced this idiom, came from those recognizing that they’d misjudged someone or something, completely wrong. In fact, I’m willing to bet they were blessed with what was supposed to help them in a particular situation (or out of a crisis) but they realized it too late. Be careful, turning your nose up to what is meant to help and teach you an important life lesson. It was likely your, Gift Horse.

Gifts don’t always come wrapped or in the packaging, we think they should. It’s important to notice Divine intervention…Could it be, that Spirit sent help but one couldn’t recognize it at the time? I recall a time I needed help and when it appeared, it was completely opposite of what I imagined it would be…But it was exactly what I needed (and asked for) to get out of a very sticky situation. It was my gift horse…so instead of focusing on its flaws or imperfections..I choose to focus and set my sight on Divine assistance being sent. The choice is always yours and it’s usually a part of your lesson…it’s to help you, change your perspective. I choose to stay grateful for help in a crisis, which made the imperfections, minute. So when things arose that I didn’t like, I reminded myself to be careful of treating a gift horse wrong…because I didn’t want to offend, the Sender. I saw it as a character test. How people treat those, they think they don’t need, speaks volumes...and, how people behave, when no one is looking, shows integrity or their lack of. All of it matters.

Source doesn’t care what the solution is wrapped in, as long as it will bring about the desired result. So what have you been gifted, that you chucked and thought nothing more of…only to realize later on, that it was exactly what you’d been praying for? Ask yourself…were you too distracted by the wrapping paper? Probably. Hey, it happens…it’s life, don’t beat yourself up. Just learn the lesson on one being so superficial that you miss the blessing.

Next time, pay more attention to the contents…and, Make sure they have what matters when deeming someone worthy on things like, moral, character and integrity that should’ve held much more weight over the wrapping paper, in the first place. Wink.

Something that you prayed for could be right there, hiding in plain sight but you’re missing it completely. By focusing much too long, on the wrapping.
